SETXWeddings: From whom or what gave you the inspiration for you to decide your career would be providing wedding photography / videography  services?
Angela@ LMVP: I was an elementary school teacher in Houston for four years.  Throughout those years as a teacher I had been providing photography & videography services for friends because of the enjoyment it brought me.  In September of 2006 I had a little baby girl and each day I had to hand my precious girl to the babysitter so that I could continue teaching.  It broke my heart to leave her each day and after that school year I decided to create my own business so that I could stay home with her.  I knew exactly what I wanted to create my business in.  Taking photos with amazing effects and creating videos with a mood set for the event has always come so natural to me and through the years I have educated myself on the subjects.

SETXWeddings: How long have you been in business? How did you get your training ?
Angela@ LMVP: After years of doing photography and videography for friends and family I started my own official business in July of 2007.  After moving to the Golden Triangle area in 2008 I have continued my business because it doesn’t feel like work to me.  To be able to stay home with my daughter and still have a career doing something that I love is complete joy.  I love creating unique and beautiful images through both green screen and natural photography and event videography.  I am always trying to do the best at what I do and graduating 5th in my High School class in 1999 and receiving a Bachelor of Science Degree in 2003 prove that.  I have received my videography & photography training through:  years of videography and photography practice, a professional photography class by James Beltz, Quick Pro Canon Tutorials, Photography & Videography online video tutorials, Reading various works of literature such as David D. Busch, Adobe Photoshop and Premiere Elements tutorials, and much more.  I am always creating and reading about innovated ways to do videography & photography.

SETXWeddings: What is your most important bit of wisdom that you would like to share with a couple planning their wedding?
Angela@ LMVP:Wisdom that I would like to give to a couple planning their wedding is to compare the photographer’s or videographer’s prices with size of wedding package you purchase ( in reference to length of time hired and amount of printing.) Also, look for a photographer who will add beautiful effects to many of the photos taken, such as adding background fades and borders as well as print, such as the bride and groom’s names. These effects make a remarkable difference to your photos.  If hiring a videographer make sure the transitions between scenes fit the mood of the scene.  For example, it is better to have simple cuts or fades between scenes during the service instead of radical transitions.  The way a videographer edits the wedding to place on DVD can make a huge difference.  And last but not least, look at the photographer’s or videographer’s samples to make sure you like the beauty and clarity of his or her work.

SETXWeddings: Tell us your most memorable story about a wedding you have provided services for.
Angela@ LMVP:My most memorable story about a wedding that I provided services for is unforgettable. The groom at one of the weddings had a brother who could not attend the wedding because he was a soldier in Iraq.  Therefore, the bride came up with an idea so that her soon to be husband would have his brother at their wedding.  She had a human size cardboard cutout of the brother in his army uniform created.  The card board cutout stood with the bridal party during the wedding and was even in the bridal party pictures.  Not only that but the girls danced with the cardboard cutout at the wedding and in the best man’s speech they said that the brother was there in both “cardboard & spirit.”  The soldier came home for two weeks and was able to watch the wedding video and see himself there at the wedding.  The bride & her family loved having a video to remember the entire experience by.

I run my service with Christian values & integrity as well as an understanding that weddings can be extremely costly.  Therefore, I provide professional services for very fair prices and if brides need help paying for their wedding photography or videography purchase then they can add a Living Memories Video & Photography Gift Certificate to their bridal gift list. Friends and family of the couples can go to www.LivingMemoriesVP.com and click on wedding packages to purchase a gift certificate.
